    Title
@fastify/static vulnerable to route guard bypass via path case-folding
    Summary
@fastify/static is a Fastify plugin that serves static files from a configured root directory. In versions before 10.1.4, on a case-insensitive filesystem such as Windows or the default macOS volume, a route guard or allowedPath restriction can be bypassed by altering the letter case of a path segment. The route matcher is case-sensitive while the filesystem is not, so a request that changes the case of a protected segment does not match the guarded route and falls through to the static handler, yet the filesystem resolves it to the same protected file. As a result, an unauthenticated request can read a file that a route guard or allowedPath was configured to protect. The issue does not affect case-sensitive filesystems and is not a directory traversal, since nothing is served from outside the configured root. The issue is fixed in @fastify/static 10.1.4, which validates the requested path against its actual on-disk spelling and rejects case-aliased paths before authorization. As a workaround, serve static files from a case-sensitive filesystem, or ensure route guards and allowedPath rules account for every letter-case variant of the protected paths.

    CVE-2026-92395 (GCVE-0-2026-92395)

    Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-09-16 14:35 – Updated: 2026-09-17 18:39

    Title
@fastify/proxy-addr vulnerable to IP spoofing via IPv4-mapped IPv6 trust subnet
    Summary
@fastify/proxy-addr is a Fastify plugin that determines a request's client address behind trusted reverse proxies, and it backs Fastify request.ip and request.ips. In versions 3.0.0 through 5.1.0, a trust subnet written in IPv4-mapped IPv6 notation with an IPv4-sized prefix, such as ::ffff:10.0.0.0/8 instead of the correct ::ffff:10.0.0.0/104, is accepted without error but trusts every IPv4 address on the internet rather than the block it names. Because the socket peer then becomes trusted at hop 0, any unauthenticated client can supply an arbitrary X-Forwarded-For header and control the address the application reads, which defeats IP-based access control, rate limiting, geolocation, and audit logging. The plugin inherited this defect from the upstream proxy-addr module (CVE-2026-90711). The issue is fixed in @fastify/proxy-addr 5.1.1, and users should upgrade to 5.1.1 or later. As a workaround, ensure any IPv4-mapped IPv6 trust subnet uses a prefix length of at least 97, or express the range in plain IPv4 notation.

    Title
@fastify/auth vulnerable to Authorization Bypass via order-dependent evaluation of composed auth
    Summary
@fastify/auth is a Fastify plugin that composes multiple authentication and authorization strategies into a single route guard. In versions 5.0.0 through 5.1.0, when strategies are composed with the relation "or" option together with the run "all" option and one entry is a nested array acting as an AND group, the group is evaluated in an order-dependent way: an earlier failing check is silently dropped and the group's result becomes the outcome of its last check. As a result, a request that satisfies only the last member of an AND group, for example an attacker who holds a valid API key but is not an administrator, is authorized instead of rejected, and a related order-dependent bypass affects the mirror configuration where the top-level relation is "and" and a nested group uses "or". The issue is fixed in @fastify/auth 5.1.1, and users should upgrade to 5.1.1 or later. As a workaround, omit the run "all" option where it is not required, order each AND group so its stricter check is evaluated last, or replace nested AND groups with an explicit top-level "and" composition.

    Title
fastify vulnerable to Denial of Service via unhandled exception on HTTP/2 trailer responses
    Summary
fastify is a fast and low-overhead web framework for Node.js. In versions before 5.12.5, when a route registers a response trailer via reply.trailer() and is served over HTTP/2, fastify unconditionally sets the Transfer-Encoding: chunked header, which is forbidden on HTTP/2, so Node.js throws while serializing the response headers. The exception is not caught and becomes an uncaughtException, so a single unauthenticated HTTP/2 request to any route that uses trailers crashes the server process and drops all in-flight requests, and it can be repeated on every restart. The issue is fixed in fastify 5.12.5, and users should upgrade to 5.12.5 or later. As a workaround, avoid registering response trailers with reply.trailer() on routes served over HTTP/2 until upgrading.

    Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-09-15 10:40 – Updated: 2026-09-15 12:31

    Title
fast-uri vulnerable to mailto header injection via percent-encoded field-name desynchronization
    Summary
fast-uri is a dependency-free RFC 3986 URI parser for Node.js, used by Fastify and ajv, that added a mailto scheme parser in version 4.1.3. In versions 4.1.3 and 4.1.4, the mailto parser compares each query field name to the reserved names to, subject, and body while the name is still percent-encoded, and decodes it only when storing it as a generic header, so a percent-encoded spelling of a reserved field name is not recognized as that field at parse time but is re-emitted as the literal field name when the parsed URI is serialized. An application that validates, logs, or displays the recipient list from the first parse and then serializes the URI and sends it can silently gain an attacker-chosen recipient, and the subject and body fields can be smuggled across the same roundtrip. The issue is fixed in fast-uri 4.1.5, and users should upgrade to 4.1.5 or later. As a workaround, do not act on a mailto URI that fast-uri has re-serialized without first decoding and re-validating its recipient, subject, and body fields.

    CVE-2026-86472 (GCVE-0-2026-86472)

    Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-09-15 10:29 – Updated: 2026-09-15 12:35
    VLAI
    Title
fast-uri vulnerable to inconsistent host case normalization via percent-encoded octets
    Summary
fast-uri is a dependency-free RFC 3986 URI parser for Node.js, used by Fastify and ajv. In versions before 2.4.7, from 3.0.0 through 3.1.7, and from 4.0.0 through 4.1.4, fast-uri folds the host to lowercase before it percent-decodes the host, so a percent-encoded uppercase octet such as %41 decodes to a literal A that is never folded. For a scheme-relative reference such as //host there is no scheme, so the host canonicalization that would normally repair this does not run, and parse, normalize, and equal then disagree on the same host. An application that makes a case-sensitive host decision on fast-uri output, for example a host allowlist or denylist that compares the parsed host or uses equal, can be steered past the check with a percent-encoded uppercase octet, and because hostnames are case-insensitive in DNS and HTTP the evading spelling still reaches the host the check meant to gate. The issue is fixed in fast-uri 2.4.7, 3.1.8, and 4.1.5, and users should upgrade to one of those versions or later. As a workaround, compare hosts case-insensitively by lowercasing the parsed host before any allowlist or denylist decision.

As a workaround, compare hosts case-insensitively by lowercasing the parsed host before any allowlist or denylist decision."

    CVE-2026-90711 (GCVE-0-2026-90711)

    Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-09-15 06:19 – Updated: 2026-09-15 14:48
    VLAI
    Title
proxy-addr vulnerable to IP spoofing via IPv4-mapped IPv6 trust subnet
    Summary
proxy-addr is a Node.js module that determines a request's client address behind trusted reverse proxies, and it backs Express req.ip and req.ips. In versions 1.1.0 through 2.0.7, a trust subnet written in IPv4-mapped IPv6 notation with an IPv4-sized prefix, such as ::ffff:10.0.0.0/8 instead of the correct ::ffff:10.0.0.0/104, is accepted without error but trusts every IPv4 address on the internet rather than the block it names. Because the socket peer then becomes trusted at hop 0, any unauthenticated client can supply an arbitrary X-Forwarded-For header and control the address the application reads, which defeats IP-based access control, rate limiting, geolocation, and audit logging. This is a fail-open regression introduced in version 1.1.0. The issue is fixed in proxy-addr 2.0.8, and users should upgrade to 2.0.8 or later. As a workaround, ensure any IPv4-mapped IPv6 trust subnet uses a prefix length of at least 97, or express the range in plain IPv4 notation.

In versions 2.29.2 through 2.30.1, a specially crafted non-string object passed to moment.locale() can bypass the locale-name path-traversal guard. The guard assumes the input is a string, so an object whose match() method satisfies the check while its toString() returns a traversal path reaches an internal require() call with attacker-controlled path segments. This is an incomplete fix for CVE-2022-24785 and primarily affects npm (server-side) users that pass user-provided input directly to moment.locale(). The issue is fixed in moment 2.31.0, and users should upgrade to 2.31.0 or later. As a workaround, validate that any user-supplied input is a string before passing it to moment.locale().

    Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-09-14 08:46 – Updated: 2026-09-14 10:29
    VLAI
    Title
multer vulnerable to Denial of Service via orphaned disk writes on aborted uploads
    Summary
multer is a Node.js middleware for handling multipart/form-data uploads. In versions 2.2.0 through 2.3.0, when a request using disk storage is aborted mid-upload, file writes that complete after multer has already run its abort cleanup are not removed, so each aborted upload can leave an orphaned file on disk. A remote unauthenticated attacker can repeatedly start and abort uploads to accumulate orphaned files and exhaust disk space, causing a denial of service. The issue is fixed in multer 2.4.0, and users should upgrade to 2.4.0 or later.

    Title
compression vulnerable to Denial of Service via memory leak on premature response close
    Summary
compression is a Node.js and Express compression middleware. In versions before 1.8.2, when a client aborts the connection while a compressed response is still being sent, the zlib stream created to compress that response is never destroyed, so each aborted compressed response leaks its native zlib memory. A remote unauthenticated attacker can repeatedly open requests and disconnect early, exhausting the available memory and crashing the server. All applications using compression are affected. The issue is fixed in compression 1.8.2, and users should upgrade to 1.8.2 or later.

    Title
hbs vulnerable to Denial of Service via unhandled exception in async helper output escaping
    Summary
hbs is an Express view engine wrapper for Handlebars. Version 4.3.0 can crash the Node.js process during output escaping when an async helper, registered with registerAsyncHelper, resolves to an object whose toHTML property is truthy but not callable. Handlebars escapeExpression calls the toHTML method on any value that has a truthy toHTML, so such a value throws a TypeError, and because the async substitution runs on a later tick outside the render function's try/catch, the throw is an uncaught exception that terminates the process without sending a response. Only version 4.3.0 is affected, since the throwing escape was introduced by the fix for CVE-2026-16231 and earlier versions do not escape async helper values. It can be triggered remotely when an async helper resolves to an externally influenced object such as parsed JSON. The issue is fixed in hbs 4.3.1, and users should upgrade to hbs 4.3.1 or later.

    Title
morgan vulnerable to Log Injection via unescaped double quote in quoted log fields
    Summary
morgan is an HTTP request logger middleware for Node.js. In versions before 1.12.1, its escapeLogField() function does not escape the double quote character, which delimits the quoted fields of the Apache combined log format that morgan emits. An unauthenticated remote attacker who controls a value written to a quoted field, such as the User-Agent or Referer header, can include a double quote to close that field early, so a log consumer that parses the log by field position reads attacker-supplied text as the following field. In the built-in formats this makes the recorded value differ from the value that was sent, and in custom formats that quote an attacker-controlled token before a server-controlled one it can forge values such as the response status. No newline is injected, so record separation stays intact. The issue is fixed in morgan 1.12.1, which escapes the double quote. Users should upgrade to morgan 1.12.1 or later.

    Title
multiparty vulnerable to Denial of Service via unbounded part-header accumulation
    Summary
multiparty is a Node.js library for parsing multipart/form-data request bodies. In versions from 2.1.0 up to but not including 4.3.1, the parser does not bound the amount of memory used while accumulating the headers of a single multipart part. An unauthenticated attacker can send a single request whose part carries a very large volume of header bytes, forcing the parser to buffer all of them and exhausting the process memory, which crashes the server. This is a denial of service with no confidentiality or integrity impact. The issue is fixed in multiparty 4.3.1, which caps the size of the accumulated part headers. Users should upgrade to multiparty 4.3.1 or later.

    Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-09-10 12:11 – Updated: 2026-09-10 12:40
    VLAI
    Title
cookies vulnerable to Set-Cookie attribute injection via unvalidated domain and path options
    Summary
cookies is a Node.js library for reading and writing HTTP cookies, used by Koa via ctx.cookies. In versions before 0.9.2 the library validates the cookie name and value against character sets that reject the semicolon separator, but the domain and path options are checked only against a permissive RFC 7230 field-content matcher that allows semicolons, and both are written into the Set-Cookie header unescaped. An application that passes untrusted or request-derived data into the domain or path option can therefore inject additional cookie attributes, overriding SameSite, Secure, HttpOnly, or Domain on the cookies the application issues. This is a Set-Cookie attribute injection issue (CWE-74). The issue is fixed in cookies 0.9.2, which validates domain and path against RFC 6265 character sets. As a workaround, keep domain and path application-set rather than derived from untrusted input.

    Title
fastify-cli vulnerable to remote code execution via ignored explicit Inspector bind address
    Summary
fastify-cli starts the Node.js Inspector when a debug flag is used, but it ignores the explicit bind address the user supplies and binds the Inspector to a broadly reachable address instead of the intended loopback. As a result the debugging interface can be exposed beyond the local machine, and because the Inspector protocol allows arbitrary code evaluation, a remote party that reaches it can achieve remote code execution on the developer's machine. This affects fastify-cli from 1.5.0 up to 8.0.1. Users should upgrade to fastify-cli 8.0.1, which honors the configured Inspector bind address.

    Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-09-04 17:21 – Updated: 2026-09-04 17:49

    Title
undici vulnerable to Denial of Service via orphaned RetryHandler response body
    Summary
undici's retry handler can leave an already-exposed response body pending forever. When a server returns a successful response that declares a Content-Length, sends only part of the body, and closes the connection, the retry handler retries the request. If the retry returns a non-retryable status such as 400, the handler forwards that new response downstream and replaces its internal response stream, but the original response body that the application still holds is never ended or destroyed. As a result calls that read that body never settle, and the configured body timeout does not fire because its timer is tied to the connection parser rather than the orphaned body. An attacker-controlled server can trigger this with two short responses without keeping a connection open, and repeated requests accumulate pending promises and streams that can exhaust application concurrency or memory. This affects undici versions from 7.11.0 up to 7.29.1 and from 8.0.0 up to 8.10.2. Users should upgrade to undici 7.29.1 or 8.10.2.

    CVE-2026-18540 (GCVE-0-2026-18540)

    Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-09-04 17:15 – Updated: 2026-09-04 17:50
    VLAI
    Title
undici vulnerable to downstream response splitting via retry interceptor
    Summary
undici's retry interceptor can append the body of a ranged retry response to bytes already delivered from an earlier partial response while still presenting the original response's status and headers. This happens when an upstream server delivers part of a body without a trustworthy resume checkpoint, for example a non-success response whose headers were already sent or a partial-content response with an unusable content range, then closes the connection and answers the resumed range request with more bytes. As a result the response body can be longer than the Content-Length that the application observes. An application that relays such a response to a downstream HTTP/1.1 peer without normalizing the framing can emit a body that exceeds the forwarded Content-Length, and the excess bytes can be interpreted as the start of a following response, which enables downstream response splitting or desynchronization. Exploitation requires an attacker-controlled upstream server and an application that forwards the response through a framing-sensitive path. This affects undici versions before 6.28.1, from 7.0.0 up to 7.29.1, and from 8.0.0 up to 8.10.2. Users should upgrade to undici 6.28.1, 7.29.1, or 8.10.2.

"value": "undici\u0027s retry interceptor can append the body of a ranged retry response to bytes already delivered from an earlier partial response while still presenting the original response\u0027s status and headers. Users should upgrade to undici 6.28.1, 7.29.1, or 8.10.2."

    CVE-2026-19534 (GCVE-0-2026-19534)

    Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-09-04 17:10 – Updated: 2026-09-04 18:18
    VLAI
    Title
undici vulnerable to Denial of Service via unrequested WebSocket subprotocol
    Summary
undici's WebSocket client crashes the whole Node.js process during the opening handshake when a server responds with a subprotocol that the client never requested. A default WebSocket connection sends no subprotocol, but if the server's 101 response includes a Sec-WebSocket-Protocol header, undici dereferences a null value while checking it against the requested list and throws an uncaught TypeError. Because that code runs inside a microtask with no surrounding error handling, the exception propagates and terminates the process under Node's default behavior, instead of gracefully failing the connection as required by the WebSocket protocol. Any application that opens a WebSocket to an attacker-controlled or compromised server, or over a plaintext connection subject to a machine-in-the-middle, can be crashed remotely without authentication in the default configuration. This affects undici versions from 6.7.0 up to 6.28.1, from 7.0.0 up to 7.29.1, and from 8.0.0 up to 8.10.2. Users should upgrade to undici 6.28.1, 7.29.1, or 8.10.2.

    CVE-2026-84890 (GCVE-0-2026-84890)

    Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-09-04 17:04 – Updated: 2026-09-04 18:33
    VLAI
    Title
undici vulnerable to Denial of Service via unbounded decompression of compressed responses
    Summary
undici's decompress interceptor decompresses response bodies according to the untrusted Content-Encoding header. While the number of content-encoding layers is capped, the total decompressed output size is unbounded and there is no configuration option to limit it. A malicious or faulty upstream can therefore return a small compressed payload, a compression bomb, that expands to hundreds of megabytes or more in client memory, an asymmetric resource consumption that can exhaust memory and crash the process. This affects undici versions from 7.15.0 up to 7.29.1 and from 8.0.0 up to 8.10.2. Users should upgrade to undici 7.29.1 or 8.10.2.

    Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-09-04 16:59 – Updated: 2026-09-04 18:34
    VLAI
    Title
undici vulnerable to cross-user cookie disclosure via Set-Cookie caching in shared caches
    Summary
undici's cache interceptor does not handle the Set-Cookie response header anywhere in its cache path, so it neither refuses to store nor strips that header. In shared cache mode, which is the default, an otherwise cacheable response that carries a Set-Cookie header, for example one marked with a public and max-age directive, is stored and then re-served to a later caller that matches the same cache key. As a result one caller's cookie is disclosed to a different caller, and an untrusted server can inject cookies into cached responses served to all subsequent callers. This violates the requirement that a shared cache must not store cookies. This affects undici versions from 7.0.0 up to 7.29.1 and from 8.0.0 up to 8.10.2. Users should upgrade to undici 7.29.1 or 8.10.2.

    Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-09-04 16:53 – Updated: 2026-09-04 18:35
    VLAI
    Title
undici vulnerable to response truncation via oversized chunked responses in the dump interceptor
    Summary
undici's dump interceptor reads and discards a response body up to a configurable maximum size. When a response declares a Content-Length that exceeds the maximum, the interceptor aborts cleanly, but when a response has no Content-Length and is chunked, the interceptor instead signals completion early once the accumulated size reaches the maximum, without pausing or aborting the request. Because the underlying parser keeps delivering body bytes, a second completion signal fires and trips an internal assertion, which aborts the request and tears down the connection. The application is left observing a misleading successful status with an empty or truncated body while the connection has actually been disconnected. This affects undici versions from 7.1.0 up to 7.29.1 and from 8.0.0 up to 8.10.2. Users should upgrade to undici 7.29.1 or 8.10.2.

    CVE-2026-84961 (GCVE-0-2026-84961)

    Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-09-04 16:47 – Updated: 2026-09-04 18:37
    VLAI
    Title
undici vulnerable to TLS certificate validation bypass via dropped connect options in BalancedPool
    Summary
undici's BalancedPool constructor passes its entire options object through an internal deep-clone that serializes and reparses the value as JSON. Because JSON cannot represent functions, any function-valued TLS option, such as a caller-supplied checkServerIdentity callback or a custom connector inside the connect option, is silently discarded before it reaches the TLS layer. As a result a peer whose certificate the application's custom checkServerIdentity was written to reject, but which still passes Node's default hostname and chain checks, is accepted when reached through BalancedPool. The Client, Pool, and Agent dispatchers are not affected because they extract the connect and tls options before cloning. This affects undici versions from 7.24.1 up to 7.29.1 and from 8.0.0 up to 8.10.2, and only when the application supplies a function-valued connect or tls option to BalancedPool. Users should upgrade to undici 7.29.1 or 8.10.2.

    CVE-2026-85008 (GCVE-0-2026-85008)

    Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-09-04 16:42 – Updated: 2026-09-04 19:28
    VLAI
    Title
undici vulnerable to caching and replay of unsafe HTTP method responses
    Summary
undici's cache interceptor documents that only safe HTTP methods are cached, but its logic to skip caching is built by subtracting the configured methods from the set of safe methods, so an unsafe method such as POST, PUT, or DELETE is never placed in the skip list and instead falls through to the full cache-read path. The response-storage gate also lacked a method check, so a response to an unsafe request that is heuristically cacheable or carries an explicit Cache-Control directive is stored and later replayed from cache. Because response headers from a remote origin are untrusted, an origin can answer once with a cacheable status and then have the client's own subsequent state-changing requests to that path served from the stale cache entry without ever reaching the origin, an integrity failure that occurs under the interceptor's default configuration. This affects undici versions from 7.0.0 up to 7.29.1 and from 8.0.0 up to 8.10.2. Users should upgrade to undici 7.29.1 or 8.10.2.

    Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-09-04 16:36 – Updated: 2026-09-04 19:29

    Title
undici vulnerable to cross-origin cache poisoning via missing origin isolation in interceptors
    Summary
undici 8.10.0 omits the destination origin from the cache and request-deduplication keys when the cache or deduplicate interceptor is composed directly onto a Client or Pool. Because the internal cache key falls back to an empty origin string, a cacheable or in-flight response from one upstream origin is returned for a request to a different, trusted origin whenever the method, path, and relevant headers match, which permits cross-origin information disclosure and persistent cache poisoning. The reporter demonstrated a full authentication bypass in which a JWT signed with an attacker-controlled key was accepted as belonging to a trusted issuer, and the trusted origin was never contacted. This is a regression introduced in 8.10.0 and affects undici versions from 8.10.0 up to 8.10.2. Applications using an Agent, which carries the origin in its dispatch options, are not affected. Users should upgrade to undici 8.10.2.

    Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-09-04 16:30 – Updated: 2026-09-04 19:30

    Title
undici vulnerable to Denial of Service via WebSocketStream unclean close
    Summary
undici's experimental WebSocketStream client crashes the whole Node.js process when a remote peer closes the TCP connection without a WebSocket close handshake. On an unclean close the internal socket-close handler calls abort on the writable stream unconditionally and discards the returned promise, but per the WHATWG Streams standard aborting a locked writable returns a promise that rejects with a TypeError. Because the application holds a writer on that writable, which is the only way to write, the rejection is never observed and Node's default unhandled-rejection behavior terminates the process. An untrusted server can therefore crash a client with a single abrupt disconnect, with no authentication and no application mistake. This affects undici versions from 7.0.0 up to 7.29.1 and from 8.0.0 up to 8.10.2. Users should upgrade to undici 7.29.1 or 8.10.2.

    Title
undici vulnerable to Denial of Service via unhandled error in WebSocket permessage-deflate decompression
    Summary
undici bundles a WebSocket client whose permessage-deflate size-limit cleanup removes all listeners from the internal zlib inflate stream, including its error listener, while that stream can still emit. When a remote peer sends a compressed payload that crosses the built-in 128 MiB decompressed-payload limit and then contains a malformed DEFLATE byte, the inflate stream emits a data error with no listener attached, which Node.js treats as a fatal unhandled error and terminates the entire process. Exploitation is remote and unauthenticated, requires no application mistake, and is asymmetric, since roughly 130 KB on the wire expands past the limit and crashes the process, and reconnecting can repeat the crash. This affects undici versions from 6.25.0 up to 6.28.1, from 7.28.0 up to 7.29.1, and from 8.1.0 up to 8.10.2. Users should upgrade to undici 6.28.1, 7.29.1, or 8.10.2.

    CVE-2026-84428 (GCVE-0-2026-84428)

    Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-09-04 10:24 – Updated: 2026-09-04 16:06
    VLAI
    Title
fastify vulnerable to header validation bypass via incomplete schema case normalization
    Summary
fastify versions before 5.12.2 implement the case-insensitive nature of HTTP header names by lowercasing names in a route's header schema before compiling it, but the transformation is incomplete: it lowercases the properties keys and the root-level required array, and does not lowercase the trigger and dependent names inside the JSON Schema Draft 7 dependencies keyword. Because Node stores request header names in lowercase, a canonical-case dependency such as requiring an authentication header whenever a privileged-mode header is present never matches, and the presence assertion is silently skipped. An unauthenticated remote client can therefore send the header that activates a privileged branch while omitting the header the dependency was meant to require, bypassing the conditional check. Users should upgrade to fastify 5.12.2 or later.

    CVE-2026-84469 (GCVE-0-2026-84469)

    Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-09-04 09:59 – Updated: 2026-09-04 19:34
    VLAI
    Title
fastify vulnerable to request validation bypass via skipped boolean false schemas
    Summary
fastify versions before 5.12.2 decide whether to compile a request schema based on JavaScript truthiness, but JSON Schema Draft 7 defines the boolean false as a valid schema that rejects every instance. When an application assigns false to a route's body, querystring, params, or headers schema to deny all input, fastify treats it as a missing schema, compiles no validator, and runs the route handler on any request. An unauthenticated remote client can therefore reach a handler that a valid deny-all schema was intended to make unreachable, a complete validation bypass that can lead to unauthorized state changes or execution of disabled operations. Users should upgrade to fastify 5.12.2 or later.

    CVE-2026-76169 (GCVE-0-2026-76169)

    Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-09-04 09:51 – Updated: 2026-09-04 16:20

    Title
fastify vulnerable to authentication bypass via malformed URLs reaching encapsulated not-found handlers
    Summary
fastify versions >= 4.0.0 and before 5.12.2 can route a malformed URL sent under one plugin prefix to the custom not-found handler of a different sibling plugin, and invoke it without the preHandler hook declared for that handler. The internal not-found router for encapsulated handlers dispatches malformed paths through a single shared handler pointer before URL decoding, ignoring the prefix and skipping the selected handler's normal lifecycle. An unauthenticated attacker can therefore reach an authentication-protected private fallback through an unrelated public prefix and read its full response, bypassing the authentication hook and breaking prefix encapsulation. Users should upgrade to fastify 5.12.2 or later.

    Title
fastify vulnerable to request body replacement via an async validation result collision
    Summary
fastify versions before 5.12.2 treat the object resolved by a successful Ajv async validator as the value result protocol used by custom validator compilers. If a request that passes its route schema contains a property named value at the root, fastify replaces the entire request body with that property's value before the handler runs, so the handler receives a different object than the one that satisfied the schema. An authenticated low-privilege caller can use this to make nested data replace the validated body and trigger an operation the route schema did not authorize, leading to unauthorized state changes and data disclosure. Users should upgrade to fastify 5.12.2 or later.
