Title
Nicotine+: Decompression of peer messages can exhaust available memory
Summary
Nicotine+ is a graphical client for the Soulseek peer-to-peer network. Prior to version 3.3.11, a modified remote client can send zlib-compressed peer messages containing a decompression bomb, exhausting available memory of the recipient's operating system. This issue has been patched in version 3.3.11.

Title
RabbitMQ: Web-MQTT decompression bomb
Summary
RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. Prior to versions 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, 4.2.6, and 4.3.0, The cowboy WebSocket options at line 117 set compress => true, enabling RFC 7692 permessage-deflate negotiation. The handler does not set max_frame_size, so cowboy's default of infinity applies. cowlib's cow_ws:parse_payload/9 calls zlib:inflate/2 on the compressed payload with no output-size limit. An attacker can negotiate permessage-deflate during the WebSocket upgrade and send a frame containing a zlib bomb (e.g. 50 KB → 5 GB). Decompression occurs in the connection process before websocket_handle/2 ever sees the MQTT bytes. An unauthenticated attacker can crash a RabbitMQ node running the Web-MQTT plugin by sending a single highly-compressed WebSocket frame (a few KB on the wire) that inflates to gigabytes in memory. The cowboy WebSocket handler decompresses the entire frame before the MQTT CONNECT packet is processed, so no credentials are required. Preconditions include rabbitmq_web_mqtt plugin enabled (not default, but common for browser clients) Network reachability to port 15675/15676 No authentication required. This issue is fixed in versions 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, 4.2.6, and 4.3.0.

Title
Docmost: Unbounded ZIP decompression (zip-bomb) in page import allows denial of service
Summary
Docmost is open-source collaborative wiki and documentation software. From 0.21.0 until 0.95.0, any authenticated workspace member with edit rights to a space can upload an archive to the page-import feature whose ZIP extraction routine does not limit total uncompressed size, per-entry size, or entry count. The extractor writes entries to the server temp directory and automatically extracts one nested ZIP, allowing an outer upload within the default 200 MB limit to expand by multiple GB. The resulting disk exhaustion can crash the import worker and degrade or take down the instance for all tenants. This issue is fixed in version 0.95.0.

Title
Suricata http1: repeated brotli compression bombs can cause excessive CPU consumption
Summary
Suricata is a network Intrusion Detection System, Intrusion Prevention System and Network Security Monitoring engine. From 8.0.0 until 8.0.6, the HTTP/1 parser limits decompression work per transaction but does not limit how many small brotli compression bombs a single flow can submit. With response-body-decompress-layer-limit enabled, repeated compressed responses make the decompression paths in rust/htp perform expensive work for every transaction, degrading packet processing and potentially causing loss of monitoring visibility or denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 8.0.6.

Title
Centrifugo: Decompression bomb DoS via permessage-deflate in unidirectional WebSocket transport
Summary
Centrifugo is an open-source scalable real-time messaging server. Prior to 6.8.4, Centrifugo unidirectional WebSocket transport with uni_websocket.compression enabled enforced uni_websocket.message_size_limit against compressed wire-frame length in internal/websocket/conn.go advanceFrame, but ReadMessage used io.ReadAll after decompression without an output cap, allowing unauthenticated requests to /connection/uni_websocket to trigger large memory and CPU consumption. This issue is fixed in version 6.8.4.

Title
Grav: Decompression Bomb via ZipArchiver - Missing Extraction Limits
Summary
Grav is a file-based Web platform. Prior to 2.0.1, Grav ZipArchiver::extract() in system/src/Grav/Common/Filesystem/ZipArchiver.php passes archives to ZipArchive::extractTo() without enforcing the system.gpm.archive uncompressed-size, file-count, or nesting-depth limits. Code using Archiver::create('zip') to extract an attacker-controlled archive can exhaust disk space or inodes and make the site unavailable. This issue is fixed in version 2.0.1.

Grav before 2.0.1 Decompression Bomb via ZipArchiver
Summary
Grav before 2.0.1 contains a decompression bomb vulnerability in ZipArchiver::extract() that lacks limits on uncompressed size, file count, and nesting depth. Attackers can supply a crafted ZIP archive that expands to fill available disk space, causing denial of service by exhausting storage resources.

Title
Grav before 2.0.2 Decompression Bomb via Forged ZIP Size
Summary
Grav 2.0.1 contains a decompression-bomb size-cap bypass in ZipArchiver and GPM\Installer. The size bound introduced in 2.0.1 sums the uncompressed size declared in each entry's ZIP central-directory header (ZipArchive::statIndex()['size']) and rejects archives exceeding system.gpm.archive.max_uncompressed_size before extraction. Because this declared size is attacker-forgeable and is not cross-checked against the actual inflated stream, a crafted archive declaring tiny per-entry sizes passes the cap while extractTo() writes the real, much larger content, filling disk or exhausting inodes. The archive must be supplied by a package source or admin upload (admin/operator trust). Fixed in 2.0.2. This is an incomplete fix for GHSA-928x-9mpw-8h56.

The size bound introduced in 2.0.1 sums the uncompressed size declared in each entry\u0027s ZIP central-directory header (ZipArchive::statIndex()[\u0027size\u0027]) and rejects archives exceeding system.gpm.archive.max_uncompressed_size before extraction. This is an incomplete fix for GHSA-928x-9mpw-8h56."

Title
httplib2: Decompression Bomb Denial of Service via Unbounded gzip/deflate Response Handling
Summary
httplib2 is a comprehensive HTTP client library for Python. Prior to 0.32.0, httplib2 performs unbounded decompression of HTTP response bodies encoded with Content-Encoding: gzip or deflate in _decompressContent in httplib2/init.py, allowing a malicious or compromised HTTP server to return a small compressed payload that expands to an arbitrarily large size in memory and causes MemoryError or OOM-kill in the client process. This issue is fixed in version 0.32.0.

Title
PhpSpreadsheet: Gnumeric reader unbounded gzip expansion causes memory exhaustion
Summary
PhpSpreadsheet is a pure PHP library for reading and writing spreadsheet files. In versions 4.0.0 through 5.8.0, 3.3.0 through 3.10.6, 2.2.0 through 2.4.6, 2.0.0 through 2.1.17, and all releases up to and including 1.30.5, the Gnumeric reader reads attacker-supplied .gnumeric files into memory and, when the file starts with gzip magic bytes, calls gzdecode() on the full compressed contents without enforcing a decompressed-size limit. A very small compressed .gnumeric file can expand to data larger than the PHP memory limit and crash the process during Gnumeric::canRead() before the file is rejected or fully parsed. This is reachable through normal file-type detection and Gnumeric loading paths, so applications that accept attacker-controlled spreadsheet uploads can suffer denial of service. This issue has been fixed in versions 5.8.1, 3.10.7, 2.4.7, 2.1.18 and 1.30.6.
