CVE-2026-3083 — GStreamer rtpqdm2depay Out-Of-Bounds Write Remote Code Execution Vulnerability

Affected: GStreamer, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.0 Extended Update Support, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Extended Lifecycle Support, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.2 Advanced Update Support, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 Advanced Mission Critical Update Support, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 Extended Update Support Long-Life Add-On, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6 Advanced Mission Critical Update Support, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6 Telecommunications Update Service and 9 more

GStreamer rtpqdm2depay Out-Of-Bounds Write Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of GStreamer. Interaction with this library is required to exploit this vulnerability but attack vectors may vary depending on the implementation.

The specific flaw exists within the processing of X-QDM RTP payload elements. When parsing the packetid element, the process does not properly validate user-supplied data, which can result in a write past the end of an allocated array. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process. Was ZDI-CAN-28850.

USN-8131-1 — gst-plugins-good1.0 vulnerabilities

Affected: Ubuntu:22.04:LTS: gst-plugins-good1.0, Ubuntu:24.04:LTS: gst-plugins-good1.0, Ubuntu:25.10: gst-plugins-good1.0

It was discovered that GStreamer Good Plugins incorrectly handled certain
X-QDM RTP payloads. A remote attacker could use this issue to cause
GStreamer Good Plugins to crash, resulting in a denial of service, or
possibly execute arbitrary code.
