OESA-2024-1482 — kernel security update

Affected: openEuler:22.03-LTS-SP3: kernel

The Linux Kernel, the operating system core itself.

Security Fix(es):

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

ALSA: hda: intel-sdw-acpi: harden detection of controller

The existing code currently sets a pointer to an ACPI handle before
checking that it's actually a SoundWire controller. This can lead to
issues where the graph walk continues and eventually fails, but the
pointer was set already.

This patch changes the logic so that the information provided to
the caller is set when a controller is found.(CVE-2021-46926)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

uio_hv_generic: Fix another memory leak in error handling paths

Memory allocated by 'vmbus_alloc_ring()' at the beginning of the probe
function is never freed in the error handling path.

Add the missing 'vmbus_free_ring()' call.

Note that it is already freed in the .remove function.(CVE-2021-47070)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

asix: fix uninit-value in asix_mdio_read()

asix_read_cmd() may read less than sizeof(smsr) bytes and in this case
smsr will be uninitialized.

SSA-613116 — SSA-613116: Multiple Vulnerabilities in Third-Party Components in SINEC OS before V3.1

In gc_data_segment in fs/f2fs/gc.c in the Linux kernel before 5.16.3, special files are not considered, leading to a move_data_page NULL pointer dereference. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

firmware: arm_scmi: Harden accesses to the reset domains

Accessing reset domains descriptors by the index upon the SCMI drivers
requests through the SCMI reset operations interface can potentially
lead to out-of-bound violations if the SCMI driver misbehave.

Add an internal consistency check before any such domains descriptors
accesses. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

media: lgdt3306a: Add a check against null-pointer-def

The driver should check whether the client provides the platform_data.

The following log reveals it:

UBUNTU-CVE-2023-52594

Affected: Ubuntu:Pro:14.04:LTS: linux, Ubuntu:Pro:14.04:LTS: linux-aws, Ubuntu:Pro:14.04:LTS: linux-azure, Ubuntu:Pro:14.04:LTS: linux-lts-xenial, Ubuntu:Pro:16.04:LTS: linux, Ubuntu:Pro:16.04:LTS: linux-aws, Ubuntu:Pro:16.04:LTS: linux-aws-hwe, Ubuntu:Pro:16.04:LTS: linux-azure, Ubuntu:Pro:16.04:LTS: linux-gcp, Ubuntu:Pro:16.04:LTS: linux-hwe and 159 more

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath9k: Fix potential array-index-out-of-bounds read in ath9k_htc_txstatus() Fix an array-index-out-of-bounds read in ath9k_htc_txstatus(). The bug occurs when txs->cnt, data from a URB provided by a USB device, is bigger than the size of the array txs->txstatus, which is HTC_MAX_TX_STATUS. WARN_ON() already checks it, but there is no bug handling code after the check. Make the function return if that is the case. Found by a modified version of syzkaller. UBSAN: array-index-out-of-bounds in htc_drv_txrx.c index 13 is out of range for type '__wmi_event_txstatus [12]' Call Trace: ath9k_htc_txstatus ath9k_wmi_event_tasklet tasklet_action_common __do_softirq irq_exit_rxu sysvec_apic_timer_interrupt
