In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

i2c: i801: Don't generate an interrupt on bus reset

Now that the i2c-i801 driver supports interrupts, setting the KILL bit
in a attempt to recover from a timed out transaction triggers an
interrupt. Unfortunately, the interrupt handler (i801_isr) is not
prepared for this situation and will try to process the interrupt as
if it was signaling the end of a successful transaction. In the case
of a block transaction, this can result in an out-of-range memory
access.

This condition was reproduced several times by syzbot:

OESA-2024-1483 — kernel security update

Affected: openEuler:20.03-LTS-SP1: kernel

The Linux Kernel, the operating system core itself.

Security Fix(es):

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

i2c: img-scb: fix reference leak when pm_runtime_get_sync fails

The PM reference count is not expected to be incremented on
return in functions img_i2c_xfer and img_i2c_init.

However, pm_runtime_get_sync will increment the PM reference
count even failed. Forgetting to putting operation will result
in a reference leak here.

Replace it with pm_runtime_resume_and_get to keep usage
counter balanced.(CVE-2020-36783)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

kyber: fix out of bounds access when preempted

__blk_mq_sched_bio_merge() gets the ctx and hctx for the current CPU and
passes the hctx to ->bio_merge(). kyber_bio_merge() then gets the ctx
for the current CPU again and uses that to get the corresponding Kyber
context in the passed hctx. However, the thread may be preempted between
the two calls to blk_mq_get_ctx(), and the ctx returned the second time
may no longer correspond to the passed hctx. This "works" accidentally
most of the time, but it can cause us to read garbage if the second ctx
came from an hctx with more ctx's than the first one (i.e., if
ctx->index_hw[hctx->type] > hctx->nr_ctx).

This manifested as this UBSAN array index out of bounds error reported

UBUNTU-CVE-2021-47153

Affected: Ubuntu:Pro:14.04:LTS: linux-azure, Ubuntu:Pro:14.04:LTS: linux, Ubuntu:Pro:14.04:LTS: linux-aws, Ubuntu:Pro:14.04:LTS: linux-lts-xenial, Ubuntu:Pro:16.04:LTS: linux-aws-hwe, Ubuntu:Pro:16.04:LTS: linux-azure, Ubuntu:Pro:16.04:LTS: linux-gcp, Ubuntu:Pro:16.04:LTS: linux-hwe, Ubuntu:Pro:16.04:LTS: linux-oracle, Ubuntu:Pro:16.04:LTS: linux and 107 more

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: i2c: i801: Don't generate an interrupt on bus reset Now that the i2c-i801 driver supports interrupts, setting the KILL bit in a attempt to recover from a timed out transaction triggers an interrupt. Unfortunately, the interrupt handler (i801_isr) is not prepared for this situation and will try to process the interrupt as if it was signaling the end of a successful transaction. In the case of a block transaction, this can result in an out-of-range memory access. This condition was reproduced several times by syzbot: https://syzkaller.appspot.com/bug?extid=ed71512d469895b5b34e https://syzkaller.appspot.com/bug?extid=8c8dedc0ba9e03f6c79e https://syzkaller.appspot.com/bug?extid=c8ff0b6d6c73d81b610e https://syzkaller.appspot.com/bug?extid=33f6c360821c399d69eb https://syzkaller.appspot.com/bug?extid=be15dc0b1933f04b043a https://syzkaller.appspot.com/bug?extid=b4d3fd1dfd53e90afd79 So disable interrupts while trying to reset the bus. Interrupts will be enabled again for the following transaction.
