      <title>cisco-sa-mdns-dos-3tH6cA9J — Cisco IOS XE Software for Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controllers Multicast DNS Denial of Service Vulnerability</title>
      <link>https://cve.radiocsirt.org/vuln/cisco-sa-mdns-dos-3th6ca9j</link>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;A vulnerability in the multicast DNS (mDNS) feature of Cisco IOS XE Software for Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controllers could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition.&#13;
&#13;
The vulnerability is due to improper validation of mDNS packets. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted mDNS packet to an affected device. A successful exploit could cause a device to reload, resulting in a DoS condition.&#13;
&#13;
Cisco has released software updates that address this vulnerability. There are no workarounds that address this vulnerability.&#13;
&#13;
Note: The Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controllers default configuration is vulnerable.&#13;
&#13;
&#13;
&#13;
This advisory is part of the September 24, 2020, release of the Cisco IOS and IOS XE Software Security Advisory Bundled Publication, which includes 25 Cisco Security Advisories that describe 34 vulnerabilities. For a complete list of the advisories and links to them, see Cisco Event Response: September 2020 Semiannual Cisco IOS and IOS XE Software Security Advisory Bundled Publication [&amp;#34;https://sec.cloudapps.cisco.com/security/center/viewErp.x?alertId=ERP-74268&amp;#34;].&lt;/p&gt;</description>
