    <title>CVE-2024-46746 — HID: amd_sfh: free driver_data after destroying hid device</title>
    <updated>2026-10-16T21:09:10.992449+00:00</updated>

      <div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><p><strong>Affected:</strong> Linux</p>
<p>In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:</p>
<p>HID: amd_sfh: free driver_data after destroying hid device</p>
<p>HID driver callbacks aren't called anymore once hid_destroy_device() has
been called. Hence, hid driver_data should be freed only after the
hid_destroy_device() function returned as driver_data is used in several
callbacks.</p>
<p>I observed a crash with kernel 6.10.0 on my T14s Gen 3, after enabling
KASAN to debug memory allocation, I got this output:</p>

<p>Supraja Sridhara, Benedict Schlüter, Mark Kuhne, Andrin Bertschi, and
Shweta Shinde discovered that the Confidential Computing framework in
the Linux kernel for x86 platforms did not properly handle 32-bit
emulation on TDX and SEV. An attacker with access to the VMM could use
this to cause a denial of service (guest crash) or possibly execute
arbitrary code. (CVE-2024-25744)</p>
<p>Several security issues were discovered in the Linux kernel.
An attacker could possibly use these to compromise the system.
