Vulnerability in the Oracle Java SE, Oracle GraalVM for JDK, Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition product of Oracle Java SE (component: Security). Supported versions that are affected are Oracle Java SE: 17.0.9; Oracle GraalVM for JDK: 17.0.9; Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition: 21.3.8 and 22.3.4. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise Oracle Java SE, Oracle GraalVM for JDK, Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized creation, deletion or modification access to critical data or all Oracle Java SE, Oracle GraalVM for JDK, Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition accessible data. Note: This vulnerability applies to Java deployments, typically in clients running sandboxed Java Web Start applications or sandboxed Java applets, that load and run untrusted code (e.g., code that comes from the internet) and rely on the Java sandbox for security. This vulnerability does not apply to Java deployments, typically in servers, that load and run only trusted code (e.g., code installed by an administrator).

Affected: Ubuntu:Pro:18.04:LTS: openjdk-17, Ubuntu:20.04:LTS: openjdk-17, Ubuntu:22.04:LTS: openjdk-17

Yi Yang discovered that the Hotspot component of OpenJDK 17 incorrectly
handled array accesses in the C1 compiler. An attacker could possibly
use this issue to cause a denial of service, execute arbitrary code or
bypass Java sandbox restrictions. (CVE-2024-20918)

It was discovered that the Hotspot component of OpenJDK 17 did not
properly verify bytecode in certain situations. An attacker could
possibly use this issue to bypass Java sandbox restrictions.
(CVE-2024-20919)

It was discovered that the Hotspot component of OpenJDK 17 had an
optimization flaw when generating range check loop predicates. An attacker
could possibly use this issue to cause a denial of service, execute
arbitrary code or bypass Java sandbox restrictions. (CVE-2024-20921)

Yakov Shafranovich discovered that OpenJDK 17 incorrectly handled ZIP
archives that have file and directory entries with the same name. An
attacker could possibly use this issue to bypass Java sandbox
restrictions. (CVE-2024-20932)

It was discovered that OpenJDK 17 could produce debug logs that contained
private keys used for digital signatures. An attacker could possibly use
this issue to obtain sensitive information. (CVE-2024-20945)

Hubert Kario discovered that the TLS implementation in OpenJDK 17 had a
timing side-channel and incorrectly handled RSA padding. A remote attacker
could possibly use this issue to recover sensitive information.
