This vulnerability allows local attackers to create a denial-of-service condition on affected installations of AVG AntiVirus Free. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability.</p>
<p>The specific flaw exists within the AVG Installer. By creating a symbolic link, an attacker can abuse the update functionality to create a file. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to create a persistent denial-of-service condition on the system. Was ZDI-CAN-22942.</p></div>
