CVE-2025-62229 — Xorg: xmayland: use-after-free in xpresentnotify structure creation

Affected: X.Org Xwayland, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 Extended Lifecycle Support - EXTENSION, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Extended Lifecycle Support, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.2 Advanced Update Support, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 Advanced Mission Critical Update Support, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 Extended Update Support Long-Life Add-On, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6 Advanced Mission Critical Update Support, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6 Telecommunications Update Service and 8 more

A flaw was found in the X.Org X server and Xwayland when processing X11 Present extension notifications. Improper error handling during notification creation can leave dangling pointers that lead to a use-after-free condition. This can cause memory corruption or a crash, potentially allowing an attacker to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service.
