selenium-binaries downloads Selenium related binaries for your OS. selenium-binaries downloads binary resources over HTTP, which leaves it vulnerable to MITM attacks. It may be possible to cause remote code execution (RCE) by swapping out the requested binary with an attacker controlled binary if the attacker is on the network or positioned in between the user and the remote server.

GHSA-h4mc-r4f4-hcf4 — selenium-binaries downloads resources over HTTP

Affected: npm: selenium-binaries

Versions of `selenium-binaries` prior to 0.15.0 insecurely download an executable over an unencrypted HTTP connection.

In scenarios where an attacker has a privileged network position, it is possible to intercept the response and replace the executable with a malicious one, resulting in code execution on the system running `selenium-binaries`.

## Recommendation

A fix for this vulnerability is available on the `master` branch of the repository as part of version 0.15.0.

Another mitigation currently available is to use an alternate package, such as [selenium-webdriver](https://www.npmjs.com/package/selenium-webdriver), the official selenium bindings for node.js.
