Improper Neutralization of Special Elements in Data Query Logic

Abstraction: Class · Status: Incomplete

The product generates a query intended to access or manipulate data in a data store such as a database, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that can modify the intended logic of the query.

Title
djehuty: Authenticated SPARQL injection in session editing allows writing arbitrary RDF triples
Summary
djehuty is a research data repository system developed by 4TU.ResearchData. Prior to version 26.3.2, an authenticated depositor can inject arbitrary SPARQL into a state-modifying (DELETE/INSERT) query by supplying a crafted session name, letting them write (and delete) arbitrary triples anywhere in the RDF store. Because the RDF store is shared across all accounts and datasets, this is an integrity compromise of the whole repository's metadata, not just the attacker's own records. Having a logged-in account is a precondition. djehuty allows self-registration via ORCID/SAML, so this is a low barrier in typical deployments. This issue has been patched in version 26.3.2.

Title
Budibase Server before 3.40.0 NoSQL Injection via JSON Parameter
Summary
Budibase Server before 3.40.0 contains a NoSQL injection vulnerability in the MongoDB query execution endpoint where user-supplied parameters are interpolated into JSON query templates without proper sanitization of JSON metacharacters. Attackers with query write permission can inject JSON structural characters to alter MongoDB queries, bypassing filters to read, modify, or delete arbitrary documents.

Title
Budibase before 3.40.0 NoSQL Injection via MongoDB datasource
Summary
Budibase before 3.40.0 contains a NoSQL injection vulnerability in the MongoDB datasource integration where user-supplied parameters are enriched with handlebars using noEscaping: true and parsed without operator filtering. Attackers can inject MongoDB operators through query parameters to bypass per-user access controls, read arbitrary documents, execute JavaScript via $where operators, or modify collections through update and delete operations.

Title
Predicate injection in manage_relationship belongs_to lookup discloses secret lookup keys in Ash
Summary
Improper Neutralization of Special Elements in Data Query Logic vulnerability in ash-project ash allows an attacker to forge a relationship to a record they cannot name, and to recover the secret value used to look it up. When manage_relationship is used with on_lookup: :relate on a belongs_to relationship, the client-supplied lookup value is passed to Ash.Query.filter/2 without being cast to the attribute type. A nested map submitted where a scalar is expected is therefore interpreted as a filter predicate rather than a literal, so a lookup for a specific record becomes a query for any record matching a condition. The same path omits Ash.Query.limit(1), leaving Ash.read_one/2 able to distinguish no match from one match from several, which turns comparison predicates into an oracle for the lookup value. Authorization is unaffected; the destination read policy still applies. This issue affects ash: from 1.52.0-rc.11 before 3.31.1.

Title
Dgraph: DQL Injection via unvalidated regexp filter argument in GraphQL query rewriter
Summary
Dgraph is an open source distributed GraphQL database. Prior to 25.3.8, maybeQuoteArg in graphql/resolve/query_rewriter.go passes regexp filter strings into generated DQL without quoting or validating the /pattern/flags form, allowing crafted GraphQL query or mutation filters to inject DQL operators, disclose unintended nodes, or expand modification and deletion targets. This issue is fixed in version 25.3.8.

Title
Improper Neutralization of Special Elements in Data Query Logic in Kibana Leading to Information Disclosure
Summary
Improper Neutralization of Special Elements in Data Query Logic (CWE-943) in Kibana can lead to information disclosure via NoSQL Injection (CAPEC-676). An authenticated user with access to the affected query functionality could submit specially crafted input that alters the intended query logic, returning data the user is not authorized to read.

CVE-2026-56096 (GCVE-0-2026-56096)

Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-08-25 09:00 – Updated: 2026-09-17 05:54

Title
Information Disclosure in extension "Apache Solr for TYPO3 - Enterprise Search" (solr)
Summary
The extension passes the user-supplied search query parameter to Apache Solr without restricting advanced Solr query syntax such as wildcards, field selectors and range queries. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can use this syntax to enumerate indexed field names and extract their stored values through boolean- and range-based blind extraction techniques, independent of any site-specific configuration.

Title
Information Disclosure in extension "Apache Solr for TYPO3 - Enterprise Search" (solr)
Summary
The extension allows a request-provided additionalFilters parameter to register a named siteHash filter before the system's own siteHash filter is applied, and the query builder does not overwrite an already-registered named filter. In a shared Solr core serving multiple TYPO3 sites, a visitor can use this to read public documents belonging to another site. The same root cause also affects the suggest top-results path when suggest is enabled.

Title
LangChain MongoDB: NoSQL Operator Injection in MongoDBSaver.list() leading to cross-tenant data exposure
Summary
LangChain MongoDB provides integrations between MongoDB, Atlas, LangChain, and LangGraph. Prior to langgraph-checkpoint-mongodb 0.3.0 and langgraph-store-mongodb 0.4.0, MongoDBSaver.list(), MongoDBSaver.alist(), and MongoDBStore.search() incorporate filter dictionaries into MongoDB queries without recursively rejecting keys prefixed with $. An authenticated caller who controls a filter argument through HTTP query parameters, request body fields, or agent tool arguments can inject MongoDB Query Language operators such as $regex or $where. In a multi-tenant deployment that uses the filter to enforce per-user or per-tenant isolation, injected operators can bypass intended equality filtering and expose other tenants' checkpoint or store data. Filters constructed entirely from trusted server-side values have lower practical risk. This issue is fixed in langgraph-checkpoint-mongodb 0.3.0 and langgraph-store-mongodb 0.4.0.

CAPEC-676: NoSQL Injection

An adversary targets software that constructs NoSQL statements based on user input or with parameters vulnerable to operator replacement in order to achieve a variety of technical impacts such as escalating privileges, bypassing authentication, and/or executing code.
