Summary
OpenClaw: Assistant media route missed scope enforcement for trusted-proxy authorization
Details

Affected Packages / Versions

  • Package: openclaw (npm)
  • Affected versions: < 2026.4.20
  • Patched version: 2026.4.20

Impact

The Control UI assistant-media route authenticated trusted-proxy callers but did not enforce the declared operator scopes for identity-bearing HTTP auth paths. A trusted-proxy caller without operator.read could access assistant-media files and metadata that were otherwise inside allowed media roots.

The route still required successful gateway authentication and media-root checks. Severity is low.

Fix

Assistant-media file and metadata requests now require operator.read on identity-bearing HTTP auth paths.

Fix commit:

  • 99ef3a63c58440d53f8e45ad861b846032fcb036

Release

Fixed in OpenClaw 2026.4.20.

VLAI
Summary
OpenBao's cross-namespace lease revocation via legacy sys/revoke path bypasses ACL
Details

Impact

OpenBao's namespaces provide multi-tenant separation. A tenant who intentionally leaks lease identifiers can have their lease and underlying credential revoked or renewed by a user in another tenant via the legacy, undocumented sys/revoke and sys/renew endpoints.

Patch

This will be addressed in v2.5.4.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-09-09 15:35 – Updated: 2026-09-09 15:35
VLAI
Details

Snipe-IT versions <= 8.6.3 (fixed in 8.7.0) do not validate company assignment authorization before persisting user records via the REST API. In Api\UsersController::store() and ::update(), the user record is filled from the request and saved before the requested company_id / company_ids[] values are filtered against the actor's permitted companies (Company::getIdsForCurrentUser()). On installs using Full Multiple Companies Support (FMCS), a non-superuser holding users.create (or users.edit on a target user) can submit company identifiers for companies outside their scope — including a mix of permitted and foreign ids — causing the account row to be committed to the database before authorization is checked. Where null_company_is_floater=1 is set, the post-hoc filter leaves an empty company pivot and the account is persisted as a "floater" with cross-company visibility, allowing creation or relocation of user accounts across tenant boundaries.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design
  • Divide the product into anonymous, normal, privileged, and administrative areas. Reduce the attack surface by carefully mapping roles with data and functionality. Use role-based access control (RBAC) [REF-229] to enforce the roles at the appropriate boundaries.
  • Note that this approach may not protect against horizontal authorization, i.e., it will not protect a user from attacking others with the same role.
Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Ensure that access control checks are performed related to the business logic. These checks may be different than the access control checks that are applied to more generic resources such as files, connections, processes, memory, and database records. For example, a database may restrict access for medical records to a specific database user, but each record might only be intended to be accessible to the patient and the patient's doctor [REF-7].

Mitigation MIT-4.4
Architecture and Design

Strategy: Libraries or Frameworks

  • Use a vetted library or framework that does not allow this weakness to occur or provides constructs that make this weakness easier to avoid.
  • For example, consider using authorization frameworks such as the JAAS Authorization Framework [REF-233] and the OWASP ESAPI Access Control feature [REF-45].
Mitigation
Architecture and Design
  • For web applications, make sure that the access control mechanism is enforced correctly at the server side on every page. Users should not be able to access any unauthorized functionality or information by simply requesting direct access to that page.
  • One way to do this is to ensure that all pages containing sensitive information are not cached, and that all such pages restrict access to requests that are accompanied by an active and authenticated session token associated with a user who has the required permissions to access that page.
Mitigation
System Configuration Installation

Use the access control capabilities of your operating system and server environment and define your access control lists accordingly. Use a "default deny" policy when defining these ACLs.

No CAPEC attack patterns related to this CWE.
