Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-01-02 15:30 – Updated: 2026-01-05 21:30A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability has been reported to affect several QNAP operating system versions. If a remote attacker gains an administrator account, they can then exploit the vulnerability to launch a denial-of-service (DoS) attack.
We have already fixed the vulnerability in the following versions: QTS 5.2.7.3256 build 20250913 and later QuTS hero h5.2.7.3256 build 20250913 and later QuTS hero h5.3.1.3250 build 20250912 and later

GHSA-X2MG-85CJ-XC8Q
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2025-10-04 18:31 – Updated: 2026-02-12 18:30In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
usb: gadget: u_serial: Add null pointer check in gserial_resume
Consider a case where gserial_disconnect has already cleared gser->ioport. And if a wakeup interrupt triggers afterwards, gserial_resume gets called, which will lead to accessing of gser->ioport and thus causing null pointer dereference.Add a null pointer check to prevent this.
Added a static spinlock to prevent gser->ioport from becoming null after the newly added check.

GHSA-X2MR-3X78-F97G
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-02-14 18:30 – Updated: 2026-03-19 18:31In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
dpaa2-switch: prevent ZERO_SIZE_PTR dereference when num_ifs is zero
The driver allocates arrays for ports, FDBs, and filter blocks using kcalloc() with ethsw->sw_attr.num_ifs as the element count. When the device reports zero interfaces (either due to hardware configuration or firmware issues), kcalloc(0, ...) returns ZERO_SIZE_PTR (0x10) instead of NULL.
Later in dpaa2_switch_probe(), the NAPI initialization unconditionally accesses ethsw->ports[0]->netdev, which attempts to dereference ZERO_SIZE_PTR (address 0x10), resulting in a kernel panic.
Add a check to ensure num_ifs is greater than zero after retrieving device attributes. This prevents the zero-sized allocations and subsequent invalid pointer dereference.

GHSA-X2P6-2VRH-8V9R
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2025-03-18 21:32 – Updated: 2025-03-18 21:32In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/msm/dp: populate connector of struct dp_panel
DP CTS test case 4.2.2.6 has valid edid with bad checksum on purpose and expect DP source return correct checksum. During drm edid read, correct edid checksum is calculated and stored at connector::real_edid_checksum.
The problem is struct dp_panel::connector never be assigned, instead the connector is stored in struct msm_dp::connector. When we run compliance testing test case 4.2.2.6 dp_panel_handle_sink_request() won't have a valid edid set in struct dp_panel::edid so we'll try to use the connectors real_edid_checksum and hit a NULL pointer dereference error because the connector pointer is never assigned.
Changes in V2: -- populate panel connector at msm_dp_modeset_init() instead of at dp_panel_read_sink_caps()
Changes in V3: -- remove unhelpful kernel crash trace commit text -- remove renaming dp_display parameter to dp
Changes in V4: -- add more details to commit text
Changes in v10: -- group into one series
Changes in v11: -- drop drm/msm/dp: dp_link_parse_sink_count() return immediately if aux read

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-02-22 18:30 – Updated: 2024-03-18 18:32In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bpf: Fix re-attachment branch in bpf_tracing_prog_attach
The following case can cause a crash due to missing attach_btf:
1) load rawtp program 2) load fentry program with rawtp as target_fd 3) create tracing link for fentry program with target_fd = 0 4) repeat 3
In the end we have:
- prog->aux->dst_trampoline == NULL
- tgt_prog == NULL (because we did not provide target_fd to link_create)
- prog->aux->attach_btf == NULL (the program was loaded with attach_prog_fd=X)
-
the program was loaded for tgt_prog but we have no way to find out which one

GHSA-X2WJ-4R98-4867
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-06-09 15:32 – Updated: 2026-10-08 15:32A flaw was found in 389 Directory Server. The dereference control plugin does not check for allocation failure before using a BER structure, allowing an unauthenticated remote attacker to crash the LDAP server when the system is under memory pressure.

GHSA-X2X3-CMVW-67W8
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-06-24 18:32 – Updated: 2026-07-21 18:30In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
gfs2: prevent NULL pointer dereference during unmount
When flushing out outstanding glock work during an unmount, gfs2_log_flush() can be called when sdp->sd_jdesc has already been deallocated and sdp->sd_jdesc is NULL. Commit 35264909e9d1 ("gfs2: Fix NULL pointer dereference in gfs2_log_flush") added a check for that to gfs2_log_flush() itself, but it missed the sdp->sd_jdesc dereference in gfs2_log_release(). Fix that.

Mitigation MIT-56
For any pointers that could have been modified or provided from a function that can return NULL, check the pointer for NULL before use. When working with a multithreaded or otherwise asynchronous environment, ensure that proper locking APIs are used to lock before the check, and unlock when it has finished [REF-1484].
Mitigation
Select a programming language that is not susceptible to these issues.
Mitigation
Check the results of all functions that return a value and verify that the value is non-null before acting upon it.
Mitigation
Identify all variables and data stores that receive information from external sources, and apply input validation to make sure that they are only initialized to expected values.
Mitigation
Explicitly initialize all variables and other data stores, either during declaration or just before the first usage.
No CAPEC attack patterns related to this CWE.
