Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

scsi: ufs: core: Fix ufshcd_abort_one racing issue

When ufshcd_abort_one is racing with the completion ISR, the completed tag of the request's mq_hctx pointer will be set to NULL by ISR. Return success when request is completed by ISR because ufshcd_abort_one does not need to do anything.

The racing flow is:

Thread A ufshcd_err_handler step 1 ... ufshcd_abort_one ufshcd_try_to_abort_task ufshcd_cmd_inflight(true) step 3 ufshcd_mcq_req_to_hwq blk_mq_unique_tag rq->mq_hctx->queue_num step 5

Thread B ufs_mtk_mcq_intr(cq complete ISR) step 2 scsi_done ... __blk_mq_free_request rq->mq_hctx = NULL; step 4

Below is KE back trace. ufshcd_try_to_abort_task: cmd at tag 41 not pending in the device. ufshcd_try_to_abort_task: cmd at tag=41 is cleared. Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

ASoC: codecs: pcm512x: fix null-ptr dereference in pcm512x_overclock_xxx_put()

In the pcm512x chipset driver, pcm512x_overclock_xxx_put() is defined as a general mixer kcontrol instead of a DAPM kcontrol, so struct snd_soc_dapm_context must not be accessed via snd_soc_dapm_kcontrol_to_dapm().

This causes a NULL pointer dereference, so it must be modified to use snd_soc_component_to_dapm().

Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

media: nxp: imx8-isi: Check whether crossbar pad is non-NULL before access

When translating source to sink streams in the crossbar subdev, the driver tries to locate the remote subdev connected to the sink pad. The remote pad may be NULL, if userspace tries to enable a stream that ends at an unconnected crossbar sink. When that occurs, the driver dereferences the NULL pad, leading to a crash.

Prevent the crash by checking if the pad is NULL before using it, and return an error if it is.

Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

ASoC: SOF: Intel: hda: Fix NULL pointer dereference

If there's a mismatch between the DAI links in the machine driver and the topology, it is possible that the playback/capture widget is not set, especially in the case of loopback capture for echo reference where we use the dummy DAI link. Return the error when the widget is not set to avoid a null pointer dereference like below when the topology is broken.

RIP: 0010:hda_dai_get_ops.isra.0+0x14/0xa0 [snd_sof_intel_hda_common]

GHSA-FC2Q-2CF4-P9XR

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-04-24 15:32 – Updated: 2026-04-28 21:36
VLAI
Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

firmware: arm_scmi: Fix NULL dereference on notify error path

Since commit b5daf93b809d1 ("firmware: arm_scmi: Avoid notifier registration for unsupported events") the call chains leading to the helper __scmi_event_handler_get_ops expect an ERR_PTR to be returned on failure to get an handler for the requested event key, while the current helper can still return a NULL when no handler could be found or created.

Fix by forcing an ERR_PTR return value when the handler reference is NULL.

Mitigation MIT-56
Implementation

For any pointers that could have been modified or provided from a function that can return NULL, check the pointer for NULL before use. When working with a multithreaded or otherwise asynchronous environment, ensure that proper locking APIs are used to lock before the check, and unlock when it has finished [REF-1484].

Mitigation
Requirements

Select a programming language that is not susceptible to these issues.

Mitigation
Implementation

Check the results of all functions that return a value and verify that the value is non-null before acting upon it.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Identify all variables and data stores that receive information from external sources, and apply input validation to make sure that they are only initialized to expected values.

Mitigation
Implementation

Explicitly initialize all variables and other data stores, either during declaration or just before the first usage.

No CAPEC attack patterns related to this CWE.
