GHSA-5427-CFR3-V9JM
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2025-05-08 09:30 – Updated: 2025-11-12 21:31In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
xen-netfront: handle NULL returned by xdp_convert_buff_to_frame()
The function xdp_convert_buff_to_frame() may return NULL if it fails to correctly convert the XDP buffer into an XDP frame due to memory constraints, internal errors, or invalid data. Failing to check for NULL may lead to a NULL pointer dereference if the result is used later in processing, potentially causing crashes, data corruption, or undefined behavior.
On XDP redirect failure, the associated page must be released explicitly if it was previously retained via get_page(). Failing to do so may result in a memory leak, as the pages reference count is not decremented.

GHSA-542G-6JP4-66MQ
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-05-28 12:30 – Updated: 2026-06-10 21:31In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/xe/hdcp: Add NULL check for media_gt in intel_hdcp_gsc_check_status()
When media GT is disabled via configfs, there is no allocation for media_gt, which is kept as NULL. In such scenario, intel_hdcp_gsc_check_status() results in a kernel pagefault error due to >->uc.gsc being evaluated as an invalid memory address.
Fix that by introducing a NULL check on media_gt and bailing out early if so.
While at it, also drop the NULL check for gsc, since it can't be NULL if media_gt is not NULL.
v2: - Get address for gsc only after checking that gt is not NULL. (Shuicheng) - Drop the NULL check for gsc. (Shuicheng) v3: - Add "Fixes" and "Cc: " tags. (Matt)

GHSA-542M-H257-C5WG
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2025-09-15 15:31 – Updated: 2025-12-03 18:30In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mmc: rtsx_pci: fix return value check of mmc_add_host()
mmc_add_host() may return error, if we ignore its return value, the memory that allocated in mmc_alloc_host() will be leaked and it will lead a kernel crash because of deleting not added device in the remove path.
So fix this by checking the return value and calling mmc_free_host() in the error path, beside, runtime PM also needs be disabled.

GHSA-544Q-M99H-WG4H
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2025-12-18 21:31 – Updated: 2025-12-19 18:31A denial-of-service vulnerability exists in the omec-project UPF (component upf-epc/pfcpiface) up to at least version upf-epc-pfcpiface:2.1.3-dev. When the UPF receives a PFCP Association Setup Request that is missing the mandatory NodeID Information Element, the association setup handler dereferences a nil pointer instead of validating the message, causing a panic and terminating the UPF process. An attacker who can send PFCP Association Setup Request messages to the UPF's N4/PFCP endpoint can exploit this issue to repeatedly crash the UPF and disrupt user-plane services.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2022-08-31 00:00 – Updated: 2022-09-07 00:01res_pjsip_t38 in Sangoma Asterisk 16.x before 16.16.2, 17.x before 17.9.3, and 18.x before 18.2.2, and Certified Asterisk before 16.8-cert7, allows an attacker to trigger a crash by sending an m=image line and zero port in a response to a T.38 re-invite initiated by Asterisk. This is a re-occurrence of the CVE-2019-15297 symptoms but not for exactly the same reason. The crash occurs because there is an append operation relative to the active topology, but this should instead be a replace operation.

GHSA-54CH-GJQ5-4976
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2022-05-24 22:12 – Updated: 2022-05-24 22:12Impact
There is a potential for segfault / denial of service in TensorFlow by calling tf.compat.v1.* ops which don't yet have support for quantized types (added after migration to TF 2.x):
import numpy as np
import tensorflow as tf
tf.compat.v1.placeholder_with_default(input=np.array([2]),shape=tf.constant(dtype=tf.qint8, value=np.array([1])))
In these scenarios, since the kernel is missing, a nullptr value is passed to ParseDimensionValue for the py_value argument. Then, this is dereferenced, resulting in segfault.
Patches
We have patched the issue in GitHub commit 237822b59fc504dda2c564787f5d3ad9c4aa62d9.
The fix will be included in TensorFlow 2.9.0. We will also cherrypick this commit on TensorFlow 2.8.1, TensorFlow 2.7.2, and TensorFlow 2.6.4, as these are also affected and still in supported range.

Please consult our security guide for more information regarding the security model and how to contact us with issues and questions.

"details": "### Impact\nThere is a potential for segfault / denial of service in TensorFlow by calling `tf.compat.v1.*` ops which don\u0027t yet have support for quantized types (added after migration to TF 2.x):\n\n```python\nimport numpy as np\nimport tensorflow as tf\n\ntf.compat.v1.placeholder_with_default(input=np.array([2]),shape=tf.constant(dtype=tf.qint8, value=np.array([1])))\n```\n\nIn these scenarios, since the kernel is missing, a [`nullptr` value is passed](https://github.com/tensorflow/tensorflow/blob/f3b9bf4c3c0597563b289c0512e98d4ce81f886e/tensorflow/python/eager/pywrap_tfe_src.cc#L480-L482) to [`ParseDimensionValue`](https://github.com/tensorflow/tensorflow/blob/f3b9bf4c3c0597563b289c0512e98d4ce81f886e/tensorflow/python/eager/pywrap_tfe_src.cc#L296-L320) for the `py_value` argument. Then, this is dereferenced, resulting in segfault.\n\n### Patches\nWe have patched the issue in GitHub commit [237822b59fc504dda2c564787f5d3ad9c4aa62d9](https://github.com/tensorflow/tensorflow/commit/237822b59fc504dda2c564787f5d3ad9c4aa62d9).\n\nThe fix will be included in TensorFlow 2.9.0. We will also cherrypick this commit on TensorFlow 2.8.1, TensorFlow 2.7.2, and TensorFlow 2.6.4, as these are also affected and still in supported range.\n\n### For more information\nPlease consult [our security guide](https://github.com/tensorflow/tensorflow/blob/master/SECURITY.md) for more information regarding the security model and how to contact us with issues and questions.\n\n### Attribution\nThis vulnerability has been reported by Hong Jin from Singapore Management University.",

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2022-05-17 00:26 – Updated: 2022-05-17 00:26An issue was discovered in Irssi before 1.0.4. When receiving messages with invalid time stamps, Irssi would try to dereference a NULL pointer.

Mitigation MIT-56
For any pointers that could have been modified or provided from a function that can return NULL, check the pointer for NULL before use. When working with a multithreaded or otherwise asynchronous environment, ensure that proper locking APIs are used to lock before the check, and unlock when it has finished [REF-1484].
Mitigation
Select a programming language that is not susceptible to these issues.
Mitigation
Check the results of all functions that return a value and verify that the value is non-null before acting upon it.
Mitigation
Identify all variables and data stores that receive information from external sources, and apply input validation to make sure that they are only initialized to expected values.
Mitigation
Explicitly initialize all variables and other data stores, either during declaration or just before the first usage.
No CAPEC attack patterns related to this CWE.
