Common Weakness Enumeration

CWE-416

Allowed

Use After Free

Abstraction: Variant · Status: Stable

The product reuses or references memory after it has been freed. At some point afterward, the memory may be allocated again and saved in another pointer, while the original pointer references a location somewhere within the new allocation. Any operations using the original pointer are no longer valid because the memory "belongs" to the code that operates on the new pointer.

11157 vulnerabilities reference this CWE, most recent first.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2025-02-27 03:34 – Updated: 2025-11-03 21:33
VLAI
Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

vrf: use RCU protection in l3mdev_l3_out()

l3mdev_l3_out() can be called without RCU being held:

raw_sendmsg() ip_push_pending_frames() ip_send_skb() ip_local_out() __ip_local_out() l3mdev_ip_out()

Add rcu_read_lock() / rcu_read_unlock() pair to avoid a potential UAF.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-08-25 18:31 – Updated: 2026-08-28 18:31
VLAI
Details

Nokogiri before 1.13.2 (CRuby, when using packaged libraries) ships vendored libxml2 2.9.12 and libxslt 1.1.34, which are affected by two upstream CVEs. Via CVE-2021-30560 in libxslt, an application transforming XML with untrusted XSL stylesheets is vulnerable to a denial-of-service attack. Via CVE-2022-23308 in libxml2, an application parsing an untrusted document with parse option DTDVALID set to true and NOENT set to false may be vulnerable to denial of service, memory disclosure, or code execution. Nokogiri 1.13.2 upgrades vendored libxml2 to 2.9.13 and libxslt to 1.1.35.

Details

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Bentley MicroStation CONNECT 10.16.02.34. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the parsing of IFC files. The issue results from the lack of validating the existence of an object prior to performing operations on the object. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process. Was ZDI-CAN-16390.

Details

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations of Foxit Reader 9.2.0.9297. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the handling of the richValue property of button objects.
