Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-04-24 15:32 – Updated: 2026-06-01 18:31
VLAI
Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

fbdev: tdfxfb: avoid divide-by-zero on FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO

Much like commit 19f953e74356 ("fbdev: fb_pm2fb: Avoid potential divide by zero error"), we also need to prevent that same crash from happening in the udlfb driver as it uses pixclock directly when dividing, which will crash.

GHSA-87V6-CRGM-2GFJ

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2022-02-10 00:21 – Updated: 2024-11-13 22:13
VLAI
Summary
Division by zero in Tensorflow
Details

Impact

The implementation of FractionalMaxPool can be made to crash a TensorFlow process via a division by 0:

import tensorflow as tf
import numpy as np

tf.raw_ops.FractionalMaxPool(
  value=tf.constant(value=[[[[1, 4, 2, 3]]]], dtype=tf.int64),
  pooling_ratio=[1.0, 1.44, 1.73, 1.0],
  pseudo_random=False,
  overlapping=False,
  deterministic=False,
  seed=0,
  seed2=0,
  name=None)

Patches

We have patched the issue in GitHub commit ba4e8ac4dc2991e350d5cc407f8598c8d4ee70fb.

The fix will be included in TensorFlow 2.8.0. We will also cherrypick this commit on TensorFlow 2.7.1, TensorFlow 2.6.3, and TensorFlow 2.5.3, as these are also affected and still in supported range.

Please consult our security guide for more information regarding the security model and how to contact us with issues and questions.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-11-09 12:30 – Updated: 2025-11-04 00:31

Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

iio: adc: ad7124: fix division by zero in ad7124_set_channel_odr()

In the ad7124_write_raw() function, parameter val can potentially be zero. This may lead to a division by zero when DIV_ROUND_CLOSEST() is called within ad7124_set_channel_odr(). The ad7124_write_raw() function is invoked through the sequence: iio_write_channel_raw() -> iio_write_channel_attribute() -> iio_channel_write(), with no checks in place to ensure val is non-zero.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-10-21 18:30 – Updated: 2026-05-12 12:32
VLAI
Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

net: stmmac: Fix zero-division error when disabling tc cbs

The commit b8c43360f6e4 ("net: stmmac: No need to calculate speed divider when offload is disabled") allows the "port_transmit_rate_kbps" to be set to a value of 0, which is then passed to the "div_s64" function when tc-cbs is disabled. This leads to a zero-division error.

When tc-cbs is disabled, the idleslope, sendslope, and credit values the credit values are not required to be configured. Therefore, adding a return statement after setting the txQ mode to DCB when tc-cbs is disabled would prevent a zero-division error.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-08-26 21:31 – Updated: 2026-08-27 21:31

Details

libjpeg-turbo 3.2.0 contains an integer division-by-zero vulnerability in the PNG loader. When processing a valid indexed-color PNG image with a non-gray palette through tj3LoadImage12() or tj3LoadImage16() using the default pixel format, the application may trigger a division-by-zero in alloc_sarray(), causing a SIGFPE and denial of service.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2025-05-20 18:30 – Updated: 2025-11-17 21:31
VLAI
Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

spi: spi-mem: Add fix to avoid divide error

For some SPI flash memory operations, dummy bytes are not mandatory. For example, in Winbond SPINAND flash memory devices, the write_cache and update_cache operation variants have zero dummy bytes. Calculating the duration for SPI memory operations with zero dummy bytes causes a divide error when ncycles is calculated in the spi_mem_calc_op_duration().

Add changes to skip the 'ncylcles' calculation for zero dummy bytes.

Following divide error is fixed by this change:

Oops: divide error: 0000 [#1] PREEMPT SMP NOPTI ...

Details

hw/ide/core.c in QEMU does not properly restrict the commands accepted by an ATAPI device, which allows guest users to cause a denial of service or possibly have unspecified other impact via certain IDE commands, as demonstrated by a WIN_READ_NATIVE_MAX command to an empty drive, which triggers a divide-by-zero error and instance crash.
